Carry-on Baggage Size Restrictions

When oversized bags do not fit in the overhead bins, delays occur. Fees will be applied to the oversized bag if it has to be checked at the gate. To avoid delays as well as fees, follow these size requirements:

• Baggage may not exceed 45 linear inches (or 115 cm) in combined length, width, and height.
• Baggage must fit easily in the Carry-on Baggage Check, which is located near the check-in counters and at the gate and is approximately 22" x 14" x 9" (or 56 x 36 x 23 cm).

Checked baggage must weigh 50 lbs. (23 kg) or less and its combined length, width and height must measure 62 inches (158 linear cm) or less.

Carry-On Baggage:
You are permitted one (1) piece of carry-on baggage not to exceed 45 linear inches or 114 cm (length plus width plus height), including wheels, handles, or any other protruding items. Your carry-on baggage must fit easily in the Carry-on Sizer Boxes conveniently located near the check-in counters and gate areas, and may not exceed any of the following dimensions: 22” long x 14” wide x 9” tall or 114 cm (56cm x 35cm x 23cm). The weight of your carry-on bag may not exceed 35 pounds.

Plus, you may carry one (1) smaller personal item that must fit under the seat in front of you (i.e., purse, laptop, infant bag, etc.). The dimensions of this personal item may not exceed any of the following dimensions: 16� long x 11� wide x 8� tall. Any carry-on bag or personal item that exceeds these stated limits will be subject to applicable checked baggage fees.

Passengers may also have the following items, but must declare them to TSA at the screening checkpoint if not contained in a clear or transparent resealable 1 quart (1 liter) plastic bag and/or are over 3.4oz. (100ml).

• Baby formula/milk (to include breast milk), juice, and baby food in containers if a baby or small child is traveling
• Medications (liquid, gel, and aerosol)
• Liquids (to include juice) or gels for diabetic or other medical needs

You may be subjected to secondary screening if you enter the screening checkpoint with liquids, gels, and/or aerosols on their person or in their carry-on bag.

Checked Baggage


Passengers may save money by checking their first bag for $20 each way and check a second bag for $30 each way if purchased online, or pay $25 for a first bag fee each way and a second bag fee of $35 each way if paid for at the airport; 

The following passengers are exempt from the first bag fee:

• First bag fees that have been pre-paid are refundable if ticket is upgraded to First Class at the airport.
• Passengers who purchase discounted or promotional upgrades from Coach to First Class through our reservations department or at the airport.
• Unaccompanied Minors (UMNR). To qualify for the exemption, the UMNR service fee must have been paid and all required support information entered in the passenger reservation. For more information on Unaccompanied Minors click here.

All baggage exceeding 50 pounds, 62 linear inches, or quantities as outlined above are subject to excess baggage fees. Checked baggage exceeding 80 linear inches will be accepted pending space availability. Checked baggage 100 pounds or over will not be accepted.
